February 18

WHEN Arthur and Maisie moved into their retirement bungalow, they were dismayed to discover that the back garden was overgrown with weeds. All the same, they were determined to do their best with it and by the end of their first season, were pleased with their efforts.
The previous occupants had put up a small greenhouse and builder's debris had been left in an untidy heap at the bottom of the garden. So, what were Arthur and Maisie to do? They decided the junk was too heavy for them to move themselves, so they did the next best thing - they used it as the base of a raised flowerbed and planted it with roses. Now they have been rewarded with a glorious show of scented blooms.
This story reminds us that we are not likely to escape problems but usually with a little preserverance we can overcome them or even turned them to our advantage.
